Crazy 4 Cult: NY

tomorrow is the opening for Gallery 1988's annual Crazy 4 Cult.
Its their 6th year and will be held in NY.

here is my piece

"When this kind of fire starts, its very hard to put out"
24x36 - oil on canvas

I remember when I first seen this film. It was so intense and sad.
Lynch touched on some very serious issues that kind of get lost in the strangeness of his world.
The fact of Laura being molested for years and the toll it took on her is heart breaking.
In the twin peaks world, the black lodge inhabitants feed and get power from human pain and suffering, which they call "Garmonbozia"  In the film its manifested in the form of cream corn....which Im very curious as too why cream corn? But hey whatever, its Lynch.
To me I see the symbolism with the lodges and its inhabitants, good and evil, of how one must be strong not to let the darkness overtake you.
And even though Laura knows shes going to die, she never lets Bob overtake her.

"When this kind of fire starts, it is very hard to put out.
The tender boughs of innocence burn first, then the wind rises, and all goodness is in jeopardy" - Log Lady
