"Event Horizon" - 16x20 - oil on canvas
this one was one that I just started with no plan in my head, I just started painting.
She started to remind me of a black hole so I just went with it. I almost named it "Supermassive Black Hole" after the Muse song..but I like the scientific term more.
11x14 - oil on canvas
I started her with the intention of doing a "space" type theme to match the other. I had something else in mind, but ended up with this. I have been wanted to paint something "nebula" like for a while, I just never had the opportunity.
funny silly fact: when I was younger I was so interested in space and loved nebulas that I said if I ever had a daughter I would name her nebula! ha! Good Lord! Good thing I eventually had a son instead. It makes for a good laugh though.

i think nebula would be a sweet name in it's own way. When I was little, I wanted to have two twin girls, and I'd name them Celeste and Aurora. So I guess I have a penchant for the celestial themed names to begin with!! : D Beautiful pieces, btw! Loved being in a show w/ you!
